Surrounded by the wilds of the west Rocky Mountains, Topo Designs’ founders Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen have a cornucopia of outdoor pursuits on their doorstep. The name Topo is derived from ‘topographic’ maps – fitting for a team whose time is spent fishing, hiking and biking through this remarkable landscape, using topological maps and a compass as their guide. It’s this connection to the natural environment that inspires the brand.
Made from durable materials such as Cordura and waterproofed pack cloth, Topo insists on using the toughest hardware, ensuring these packs perform out in the field, but are equally at home for the rigours of a daily commute. Somehow they have managed to combine design simplicity, function and eye catching good looks into their range of packs, bags and accessories.
One of the few modern outdoor companies that has chosen to keep production local
Topo is one of the few modern outdoor companies that has chosen to keep production local – all of its products are hand made in Colorado, USA – meaning they can keep a tight control on quality and also make much smaller runs than their counterparts, allowing for special and limited editions.
It’s Topo’s authentic story, bold designs and solid commitment to quality that sets them apart others in the carry category and make them a firm Homecamp favourite.
