Homecamp Pty Ltd (ABN 68 600 745 033) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you browse our website, purchase from us, contact our team or subscribe to our marketing.
For privacy enquiries, contact [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy enquiry”.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, order details, payment status, customer enquiries, correspondence, product reviews and marketing preferences. For trade enquiries, we may also collect business details and information about your project.
When you use our website, we and our service providers may collect technical and browsing information, including your IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referral sources and interactions with products, advertisements and checkout.
Payment providers process payment credentials under their own privacy policies. We receive information needed to manage your transaction, such as payment confirmation, transaction identifiers and refund status. Please do not send full payment-card details by email.
2. How we collect information
We collect information directly when you place an order, complete a form, subscribe to updates, submit a review or communicate with us online, by telephone or in person. We also receive information from payment providers, delivery partners and other service providers involved in your purchase.
Cookies, pixels and similar technologies collect information about website use and marketing interactions, as explained in section 5.
If you provide another person’s information, such as a gift recipient’s delivery details, please ensure you are authorised to provide it and make them aware of this policy.
You can browse our website without providing your name and can make general enquiries anonymously or using a pseudonym where practicable. If you do not provide information needed to process an order or resolve a particular enquiry, we may be unable to provide that service.
3. How we use information
We collect, hold and use personal information for the following purposes:
- Processing payments, fulfilling orders and arranging delivery or collection.
- Providing customer support and managing returns, warranties and complaints.
- Communicating about orders, stock availability and enquiries.
- Sending marketing where we have the appropriate consent or another lawful basis.
- Understanding website use, measuring advertising and improving our products and services.
- Creating and managing advertising audiences as described in section 5.
- Maintaining business records, preventing fraud, protecting our systems and meeting legal obligations.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We share information relevant to these purposes with service providers supporting our business. These include website hosting and ecommerce services, payment processors, warehouses and fulfilment partners, delivery companies, customer-support systems, marketing platforms, analytics providers and professional advisers.
Our systems include WooCommerce for ecommerce, Klaviyo for marketing, Help Scout for customer support, and services supporting inventory, shipping, reporting and accounting, such as Lightspeed, Shippit, Metorik and Xero. Payment providers may include Stripe, PayPal and Afterpay, depending on the payment method selected.
Google and Meta also receive information through the analytics, advertising and customer-list tools described in section 5. Their handling of information is explained in their own privacy policies.
We may disclose information where required or authorised by law, to address suspected fraud or security incidents, or to establish or defend legal claims.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to support functions such as shopping carts and checkout, remember preferences, understand website activity and measure advertising performance.
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, including which pages they visit and how they interact with the site.
Meta Pixel: We use Meta Pixel to measure actions associated with our advertising and support relevant advertising on Meta services. These technologies may send browsing and event information to Google or Meta, which may associate that information with other information they hold, depending on your settings and our configuration.
Customer-list advertising: We share customer identifiers, such as email addresses, with advertising platforms through tools such as Meta Custom Audiences and Google Customer Match. These tools match customer details with accounts on those platforms. We use them to show relevant advertising, exclude existing customers from certain campaigns and measure marketing performance. Identifiers may be hashed before transfer, but hashing does not make this information anonymous.
You can ask us to stop including your details in future customer-list audience uploads by emailing [email protected]. We will also request removal from existing uploaded audiences where supported. This will not prevent you from seeing general Homecamp advertising.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website functions. You can also review advertising preferences within your Google and Meta accounts. These controls do not necessarily prevent every form of data collection.
For information about these providers, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Privacy Policy.
6. Marketing communications
Where permitted, we send product news, offers, event information and other marketing relevant to Homecamp. Our marketing systems may record interactions such as email opens and link clicks to help us assess and improve communications.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact [email protected]. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary communications about an order, return or customer-service enquiry.
If you also want your details excluded from customer-list advertising, please tell us so we can action that request across the relevant systems.
7. Overseas handling of information
Some of our technology, payment, support and advertising providers operate internationally. Personal information may therefore be stored, processed or accessed outside Australia. The locations depend on the provider, its infrastructure and the services used.
Contact [email protected] if you would like further information about the overseas handling of your personal information.
8. Storage, security and retention
We hold personal information in our business systems and those of our service providers, and in business records where required. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No online service or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including order fulfilment, support, warranty matters, accounting, legal obligations and dispute resolution. When information is no longer needed and retention is not required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. Access, correction and deletion requests
You can contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information or ask us to delete information we no longer need. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Some information may need to be retained for legal requirements or legitimate ongoing business purposes. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why, subject to any legal restrictions, and outline any available next steps.
Send requests to [email protected] with sufficient information for us to identify the relevant records. Please do not send identity documents unless we request them and explain how to provide them securely.
10. Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about our handling of your personal information, email [email protected] with details of your concern and the outcome you are seeking.
We will review your complaint, seek further information where necessary and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days. If we need more time, we will explain why and keep you informed.
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner to enquire about available complaint options. Its ability to investigate depends on whether the matter falls within its jurisdiction.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, practices or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its update date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent for a change in how we handle information.
